Bobby pins. There are soooooo many ways to use them, it’s virtually impossible to count the ways! They’re the perfect way to add a bit of style to your hair, whether you’re looking for just a touch of something different or full-on glam. Here’s just a small list of six creative ways to use bobby pins to get your gears going.
Twist and Pin
Even those who swear they can’t style their own hair can pull off this look! Simply take a strand a hair around the front of your face and twirl it around your fingers, then pin it back with a bobby pin! The look is somewhat bohemian and looks great with straight hair or soft waves, too.
Deep Side Part

I love a vintage hairdo, and that’s exactly what a deep side part reminds me of. Instead of parting and simply slicking back your locks, use several bobby pins (bonus points if they’re in a fun, bold color) to pull your parted hair back around the middle part of your head, slightly above the ears. The result is a much softer and natural look.
Side Sweep
For a simple twist on a down hairstyle with waves, sweep one part of your hair and use bobby pins to pin that section of hair up toward the top of your head. The look is quite glamorous yet easy to achieve; we suggest pairing with a bold, red lip!
Updos Galore
There are so many ways you can use bobby pins for updos that we could build an entirely new website on just that alone! From sideswept chignons to elegant twists and buns, bobby pins will allow you to create a virtually endless parade of styles. Hair Adornments

Who said bobby pins needed to be dull? There are tons of beautiful pins out there these days that serve as adornments in themselves. Bobby pins with crystals, pearls, flowers, feathers and more are beautiful ways to accent your hair. Start with a half up half down hair do and then simply use the bobby pins throughout your hair as accent pieces. It’s a fun way to play with a completely new look.
Half up Half Down Do
If you’ve been using barrettes to secure your half up half down dos, it’s time to use bobby pins instead! You can creatively pin several pieces in the back which creates a more interesting look and is easy to style, too.
