1. Use Blue Shampoo – It may sound funny, but using a purple or blue-toned shampoo at least once a week can really enhance your blonde and prevent brassiness. Try Aveda’s Blue Malva Shampoo or Clairol Professional Shimmer Lights Shampoo.
2. Glaze It – While you should invest in a salon glaze treatment from time to time, you can also glaze at home to boost color and add shine. We love what Oscar Blandi’s Luce Sheer Gloss can do to enhance a dulling blonde!
3. Play With Makeup – The right makeup not only enhances your facial features, it can really make your hair color pop too! For darker blondes, caramel colors on your eyes work best. For the lighter platinum blondes, pink lip colors and neutral eye shadows can boost your look. If your blonde falls somewhere in between, try a peachy lip color and soft purples on the eyes to enhance your highlights.
**TIP** If you spend a lot of time in the pool and/or have hard water issues, be sure to wash weekly with a clarifying shampoo to prevent greening and dullness of the hair.
